Dear Caltech grad students;

TL;DR: Are you interested in taking part in organizing an international space mission design competition hosted during spring break here at Caltech? We are looking for co-chairs for the 2025 edition of the Caltech Space Challenge. More information can be found here: https://www.spacechallenge.caltech.edu

Contact us if you are interested!

Long version: Are you interested in being a co-chair for the next edition of the space challenge? We are looking for two students that will take over the responsibility to plan and host the Caltech Space Challenge in spring break of 2025.

If you are not familiar with the Caltech Space Challenge, it is a week-long space mission design workshop and competition where we bring 32 students from around the world to Caltech to develop a mission concept and present their work to a panel of experienced jurors at the end of the week.

Your responsibilities will include finding sponsors, developing the mission concept, getting the word out about this opportunity to interested students, handling the application process, selecting the participants, planning the logistics of the event, designing the website and promo flyers, keeping an eye on the budget, coordinating with volunteers from JPL and sponsoring companies, and many more things that will come up. This is an amazing opportunity to get leadership and event planning experience, and you will be able to create connections with experienced scientists and engineers at JPL, Caltech and in the industry.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy being a part of, please contact us using the form below or via email to csc@caltech.edu. We would be very happy to meet with you and answer all your questions about this rewarding experience!

We are looking forward to talking to you!

Best,

Josefine and Liam (2022 Co-chairs)
